Walking off the Court as a State Champion

Evey high school athlete dreams of walking off the court as a state champion at the end of their high school career. Unfortunately, for most athletes, this type of ending won’t be their reality. Despite the pandemic’s uncertainty, Alyssa Miller and her Blue Valley West teammates came together and created a memorable season that ended with the Jaguars hoisting the 6A crown. When asked to describe her feelings after winning the championship, Miller stated, “it’s indescribable.”

KC Athletes sat down with Miller, the Kansas 6A Player of the Year, to discuss her volleyball journey, development at the setter position, and why she selected the University of Dayton over other suitors.
