Wayne Simien Teaching the Next Generation of Ballers

KC Athletes spent a day at the Hy-Vee Arena with Kansas City basketball legend Wayne Simien at Simien’s Called to Greatness Holiday Clinic. The 2001 Mr. Kansas Basketball and DiRenna Award winner (Leavenworth HS), 2005 NCAA Consensus All-American and Big 12 Player of the Year (University of Kansas), and 2006 NBA Champion (Miami Heat) put girls and boys from around the metro through drills aimed at improving their basketball skills and building character. Simien said, “ I started out playing in basketball camps just like this, developing my skills and working on my craft, and I’m excited to be able to teach this next generation the skills and the drills that helped make me successful as a basketball player.”
